Garrison and Townsend Seed Company

This ESA was conducted to evaluate two properties owned by the Garrison & Townsend Seed Company - a hybrid seed wholesaler. One project area - a large seed processing / storage facility - covered a three city block area. The other property was located on railroad right-of-way and access agreements from the railroad had to be obtained. Because the proposed transaction involved acquisition of the seed company by an international conglomerate, our investigation not only evaluated environmental suitability, but also addressed certain business liability issues such as permit transfers, railroad lease transfers, and POTW discharges.
